Yes I realise an update on my (non-existant) life is sorely needed. And also that there's something fundamentally wrong with me. It's about making friends and keeping them. But let's not elaborate on that, shall we?
Went to the National Library today! It was superhuge. Met Yvette at Bugis (we were both late, haha) and navigated our way there. It was quite easy, because NLB is really very, very visible. Met Xing Ying at the counter and took a lift up to the 14th floor. We discovered that there was absolutely nothing there, but it had a good view anyway. Sort of good view, 'cos you're high up and can see lotsa stuff, but ugly because lots of construction work is going on in the city and all that.
Anyway, after that we decided we shouldn't loiter around too much, so we we went to the 7th floor reference library and started looking for stuff. For PW, naturally. Meh. We did find some relevant material, but not a lot. But something's better than nothing, right? Went to photocopy the stuff after that. My, the queue was long, but it eventually got to us, so all's well. Oh, the group of people queueing in front of us were also doing the PW apparently, haha. Overheard them talking.
Yup, after we photocopied the stuff, Xing Ying and Yanxia (who met us a bit later) left, and I went to the Central Lending Library at B1. I was shocked, to say the least, when I reached there, because the place was positively SWARMING with people.
By the way, I have to mention this: the Central Lending Library has the BIGGEST IAIN M. BANKS collection I've seen in any library!! Borrowed Espedair Street. Also picked up A Scanner Darkly by Philip K. Dick, which I'm 60+ pages into. It's a bit boring though; his prose doesn't really appeal to me, but his plots are intriguing. I hope I finish it, although I don't think I've got that kind of determination... *cough*
Yeah, that's it for this entry, as well as for my day. Nothing much happened after that. Joined the superlong queue to check out books, then went to Bugis to take MRT, cutting through the shopping centre and buying myself a chocolate ice blend from Coffee Bean as a treat.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I was surveyed at the library. One of the staff approached me and I answered her questions. Quite fun. XD
